MYSTICETI MAGAZINE AND ART COMMUNITY

Role:  Founder

Mysticeti is forming a community of artists who love storytelling. It was born out of the need for a supportive, open and carefully curated space for sharing creations by all ages, identities and regions.

I started Mysticeti in July 2021 as an online art and culture magazine, but in a short period of time it has grown into a mentoring platform for creative writers and a safe space for underrepresented communities to share honest narratives through storytelling.

Mysticeti is named after the baleen whale and represents freedom, creativity and independence.

KENZEN SCHOOL

Role: Consultant (Transforming education during Covid)

Kenzen is a primary school in Varanasi that aims to build on individual strengths and remove barriers to personal growth. It adopts an alternative model for education that encourages free thinking among children to increase their interest towards learning.

During the transition to online education in 2020, I worked with Kenzen on building need-based digital channels for maintaining a personal connect between facilitators, guardians and children. I continue to work with the school on developing integrated curriculum designs and open spaces for children to share their creations and curiosities.

WORK 4 PROGRESS PROGRAM

Role: Knowledge and communication management (India)

Work 4 Progress creates job opportunities in underserved regions of the Global South. In India, it works on building enterprise development solutions for youth and women in rural parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

I anchored communication and evaluation for the program's second phase (2018-2020) in India which focused on testing human-centered design solutions for empowering youth and fostering collaboration between diverse stakeholders.

The picture was taken during a community building session in which members of disputed villages came together to participate in trust-building activities.

INTERNAL POLICY REFORMS AT UNITED NATIONS

Role: Research and policy analysis

The Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) is the only independent external oversight body of the United Nations system mandated to conduct evaluations, inspections and investigations system-wide.

I worked with inspectors at the JIU on two system-wide policy reviews - Review of mechanisms and policies for addressing conflict of interest and Review of Oversight Committees in the United Nations system.
